@manton.org I think they are fans of the ideals that Apple stood (stands?) for, and wouldn’t call them out when there wasn’t anything to call them out for. Which, you know – fair. But as Apple left those ideals behind more and more, they became more vocal.

At least that’s my personal take. I might be wrong
